Orvis is running a $100 gift card drawing for everyone that writes a product review on their web site. Every product on their web page has a “Write A Review” option attached to it. If you write a review of any product, you will automatically be entered in the drawing. I am going to enter a review about my Orvis T-Shirts. I have never owned a softer shirt!

If you enter a review, tell us about it and we’ll be able to share thoughts on Orvis products.  I have always found their price tag to be large but have never been disappointed by a purchase.  You get what you pay for I guess.

The salmon below was caught by gallery member ibgrizz. He caught it from his front yard in Alaska! The salmon run starts in earnest very soon in the Last Frontier. Get after them grizz!
Oh yeah, if you check out his album in the photo gallery, you’ll see he catches bears in his front yard as well! Gotta love Alaska!

thefishicaught.com is changing to a blog format. The original photo gallery is still open and available via the Photo Gallery link above. With over 50 members, it is definitely the most popular aspect of our web page.

We are hoping the blog format will allow for more interaction among members.  Look for regular posts regarding fishing tips, bargains, stories and more!

I’ve recently moved back to the East Coast. Although I am loving it, I hated to leave Lake Fork in East Texas.  Perhaps the best bass lake in history, and one of the first designed specifically for bass fishing before being impounded, Lake Fork dominates the prestigious Texas Share Lunker Program for bass over 13 pounds!

My friend caught this fish during one of our trips to Fork.  Although it is average by Fork standards, it is still a beauty.  It’ll be a while before I reel in a largemouth like that on the East Coast.

My brother and I caught this Bluefish in a tandem Ocean Kayak off the coast of Long Beach Island, New Jersey. The experience prompted me to start the web site and it is also a good reminder that summer fishing on the East Coast is just starting to heat up. I hope to be in a kayak casting for Stripers and Bluefish very soon!

Father’s Day is less than a month away so…the next few days will include posts for good sales from retailers that might make Daddy smile on June 21st.

Cabela’s Father’s Day sales started this week. I’ve been saving small gift cards from Cabela’s for some time now so I’m hoping to get a new rod to go with the Diawa Coastal Inshore reel I got for Christmas!  Check out the Cabela’s web site for bargains on what dad might need for the summer fishing season!
